Denise VanderSal, Principal Project Director

Denise began her work with Tripp Umbach as an intern in 2008 while obtaining her graduate degree, and continued to consult with the firm on numerous projects through 2011. In the Spring of 2012, Denise joined Tripp Umbach full-time and has grown to be one of the most analytical project directors in the firm. She is highly skilled in economic and statistical analysis and is able to communicate these findings effectively and simply to clients and their constituents. Denise is a highly-skilled researcher and works to find answers and solutions through primary and secondary data research.

Prior to working at Tripp Umbach, Denise worked on the international multi-center study examining pediatric liver failure (PALF) at the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public Health. She has also acted as a consultant on a city-wide assessment of Pittsburgh public schools (A+ schools).

Denise received her B.S. in psychology and M.A. in research methodology from the University of Pittsburgh. Her education focused on research study design, implementation, and statistical analysis.
